Captain Jamie Lou Waterhouse is the founder of Girls Love to Fly 501c3 Non-Profit Foundation. Through a brief opportunity to join a captain in the cockpit to ease a fear of flying, Jamie Lou Waterhouse fell in love with the world of aviation. She has made it her mission to inspire and help more women and girls get involved in the aviation industry, as there are currently less than 6% of women in aviation.
Jamie Lou understood first hand the amount of barriers and obstacles one must overcome to get their wings. Girls Love to Fly was created to support female aviators to navigate through those obstacles with and all girls flight school, driven by a robust syllabus, and countless scholarship opportunities for various written and checkride examinations and ratings. Captain Waterhouse also founded the Girls Love to Fly Facebook Community, a place to all join each other for the love of aviation. There are thousands of aviation enthusiasts who are members of the Facebook community, and it is free to all!
Captain Waterhouse is a licensed pilot, Certified Flight Instructor, and is current in many aircraft ratings such as the CL30 Challenger, CE-525S Citation, BE200 King Air, amongst others.
Girls Love to Fly is not the first organization or company that Jamie Lou Waterhouse has founded. She was born with an entrepreneurial spirit. She has been involved in the Real Estate industry for over 20 years, and founded the Real Estate Brokerage, Black Diamond Real Estate.
Captain Waterhouse expresses many thanks and gratitude to all Girls Love to Fly Dedicated Aviator Members and Partners and Sponsors of Girls Love to Fly 501c3 Non-Profit Foundation. Captain Waterhouse expresses special thanks to her mentor, friend, rockstar pilot, DPE, and long time supporter of Girls Love to Fly, Richard Conte.
When Jamie Lou isn't in the skies or selling Real Estate, she can be found skiing on the slopes of Lake Tahoe or at a local yoga studio. She is a tea connoisseur and wine collector and enjoys spending time at her modern California home with her two Pomeranians, Ruby and Pepper!
